About 41 percent of married women aged 15-49 years use modern methods of family planning. Despite progress, there is a high unmet need for family planning (22 percent). 

UNFPA supports increased availability of quality-assured lifesaving reproductive health drugs and family planning commodities and advocates for sustainable financing of reproductive health commodities. 

Through UNFPA Supplies, we support interventions to increase the availability of essential life-saving maternal health medicines and modern family planning methods and services.  

Around one-third of the contraceptive requirements of Ethiopia are being addressed through UNFPA Supplies. 

UNFPA contributes to contraceptive financing, strengthening supply chain management, capacity building of health care providers, and ensuring the provision of quality voluntary family planning and maternal health services with a focus on marginalized and underserved communities.
