In 2024, amidst conflict, climate shocks, and economic strain, UNFPA Ethiopia remained unwavering in its mission: to protect the health, rights, and dignity of women, girls, and youth.
In partnership with the Government of Ethiopia, donors, civil society, and communities, UNFPA advanced its four transformative goals—ending unmet need for family planning, preventable maternal deaths, gender-based violence, and HIV transmission. From deploying mobile teams and expanding maternity waiting homes to empowering youth through AI-driven tools and life skills education, our impact reached millions across 12 regions.
We also strengthened GBV prevention and response, supported survivors through safe spaces and legal aid, and brought youth voices into peacebuilding.
This Annual Report captures the progress made in 2024 through collective action and strategic partnerships. UNFPA Ethiopia expresses its deep appreciation to all partners, donors, and frontline actors whose dedication continues to drive transformative change for women, girls and youth across the country.
