United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), in collaboration with the German and Austrian Embassies in Ethiopia, is organizing a dissemination session of the results of a study conducted on Ethiopia entitled “From Land of Famine to Land of Hope: Will Ethiopia Become a Model for an African Upswing?”
The event will be held on the 28th of March 2019 (Thursday) at the Hayatt Regency Hotel, Addis Ababa starting from 2:30 p.m.
The study is conducted by the Berlin Institute for Population and Development with the financial support from the Austrian Development Cooperation. The partnership forged by UNFPA and the two Embassies is in the framework of fostering knowledge sharing and strengthening evidence based information for advocacy and policy dialogue on population and development matters in the country. This comes at an opportune moment when we are commemorating the 25th anniversary of the International Conference on Population and Development (ICPD at 25) throughout the year 2019.
In addition to the presentation on the main results of the study which will be made by the authors from the Berlin Institute for Population and Development, a presentation will be made on the “Current Population Dynamics of Ethiopia” by the Institute of Population Studies of Addis Ababa University.
